A completely classic work of Scandinavian functionalism with modern expression.
Designed in 1957 by Poul M. Volther, this clean and simple table was designed to compliment the growing collection of FDB Møbler's classic dining chairs. The result was the C35 table, which is as relevant today as it was 60 years ago.
The table legs, which are slightly inclined outwards, give a more casual, but stable expression. The table is available in three sizes. The table top comes in nature (beech and oak), linoleum or black - giving three completely different expressions.
The C35 — at 95 x 220cm — is the largest table in the C35 series. It is ideal for the dining room, board room or large kitchen area.

Poul M. Volther
Furniture designer Poul M. Volther was head of FDB Møbler’s creative studio from 1950 to 1955. He belonged to a generation of architects with their roots in exceptional craftsmanship. As a functionalist who loved simplicity in the handling of materials, he distanced himself from the garish and ashy. His J46 chair, with over a million sold, is as popular today as it was when he designed it in 1956.
"Furniture ought to make room for people" That has been the philosophy of FDB Møbler since 1942 when was founded with architect Børge Mogensen heading up the studio.
Many new designers have since entered the fold, but the foundational principles remain the same: To create beautiful, functional and exceptionally crafted furniture that make room for everyday living and that can withstand everyday wear and tear to age gracefully with those who use them.
FDB Møbler is internationally known as a frontrunner of Danish design. It’s a story of classic pieces to be passed down from generation to generation. The values that FDB Møbler was founded upon continue to shape every piece of oak and beech. They are woven into the seats and are upheld in each design.
